2003 Chevy Impala Traction control/Service soon

The traction control system is acting up and the light is on saying system needs service. Why.

You'll first need to scan the computer to see which codes are actually showing up. (Autozone will do this for free) This will give you a place to start.

When you have a traction control problem, it's usually the vehicle speed sensor, or one wheel speed sensors has failed. The sensors can get cracked/broken by a rock, caked up with mud/rust, or the wiring/connector can be damaged.

Because you vehicle is a '03, the computer should tell you exactly where the problem lies. (Such as VSS failure)
What it won't tell you is why. That will require inspecting that particular circuit and sensor.
