2003 Chevy Impala Code PO128 Coolant thermostat/temp.

The check engine light has come on recently. I've checked it & received this code. Do I need to replace the thermostat? What else should I get checked & how much does this typically cost(estimate)? Thank you very much! I appreciate the help & advice!

You need to replace the thermostat
