I bought a bunch of used car parts at a action the other day. I have tried identifying the make and model by searching for the part number cast in the plastic but I am having no luck. Is there a cross reference that will provide me with the year, make, and model of the parts. The parts are mostly headlights, tail lights, and side mirrors.

Many autoparts stores have a "parts interchage" section in their parts computer.

You can try to give them a list of the part numbers and see if it crosses to another part.

There can be numbers cast into a part that show manufacturing date, lot number, time cast, date etc. But you can give it a shot.
