How can you tell when a master cylinder is bad? Trying to bleed a brake system and still pedal goes all the way down after pumping bleeding air out.

Hi there, close off the bleeder and pump up the pedal till you have some pressure, hold light but constant pressure on the brakes, if the pedal slowly drops away it will be faulty, if you have constant air in the system, and there are no leaks to bee seen, the rear seal of the master will more than likely be drawing in air.
