1993 Corvette transmission issues

I have a 1993 corvette with a 6 speed manual trans. When the car is put in gear there is a whisteling sound. When I depress the clutch it goes away. I am guessing the throughout bearing is shot - but only guessing. The sound can be herd in all gears and the higher the RPMs the louder the whirr. Any ideas would be appreciated. The car is a daily driver with 180000 on the odo and all maint done by me. Also no check engine or codes to look up.

Sounds like you are right. You are fortunate that you got 180K out of it before something like this happened. You should be ready to replace the clutch assembly and have the flywheel surfaced, whoever does the work.
