1986 Chevy Corvette Hood release

I am unable to release the passenger side hood release to raise the hood. The driver side releases and I am able to lift, but the other side won't budge. I have tried pounding, carefully with my hand, around the latch area to see if it was just sticking with no result. It seems the cables are not pulling to release the catch, but I have pulled the interior lever all the way.

any ideas?

Get aflashlight and see if you can locate thecable that goes from d/s to p/s. It should be accessable if the d/s is unlatched. Try pulling it with pliers. If that wont work you may need to remove the p/s wheel and go in through th einner wheelwell panel, it unbolts with about 6-8 10mm bolts
