1990 Chevy Cheyenne V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My truck has been occassionally sputtering, backfiring out the exhaust, thefuel mileage has decreased a little. Sometimes when it sputters the engine will die and restart without doing anything, not turning the key or anything else.

Get your engine codes if there are any. You cross the A & B terminal on the ALDL then count the flashes=1 then 2 =12 and so on. You can get the codes what they mean on the site here by going to OBD1 area. Then check your fuel pressure, you might have a partially plugged fuel filter or pump going bad.
