The Charging System light came on the other day for no reason and has been on since. Just yesterday the other sensor lights came on (seat belt, oil, etc), the headlights dimmed on and off and the cra nearly died a few times on the way home. Kept it in low gear to try and make it home but the RPMs were running extremely high. Made it home, but I think the battery is now dead because of the effort.

Could this be the alternator?

It could be. Have the voltage output checked and the battery load tested. Voltage out put should be around 14 volts

Thanks. I'm having it checked out tomorrow morning so I'll post a follow up once I find out more info.

Ended up being a shredded belt plus the battery needed a charge. All is well now. Thanks again for the assistance.
