2002 Chevy Cavalier Oil in rockers

I noticed my cars blower for the heat would come on but wouldn't heat up I replaced the thermostat and the water pump and my car overheats I took the head off and found oil in the rockers is oil supposed to be in the rockers? And if not what would cause it to be there? And finally what would cause it to overheat besides the water pump and thermostat? HELP ME PLEASE thanks in advance

This is a 2.2 l? They need oil in the rockers so they dont sieze up. If the t-stat is working, do the cooling fans come on? If they do, might want to try having the coolong system flushed, could have a restriction causing this. Also have it chemical tested for a blown head gasket.
