Engine Mechanical problem
2001 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 60k miles

Hello I have over-tightened the rocker arm bolt and it stripped the thread pattern in the head. What is my best option and the cheapest to do? Can I just tighten the best I can and leave it? Any help will be appreciated.

Hi there,

You will have to get the damaged thread repaired, you can get a thread repair done that will bring it back to the standard thread, not doing anything will only cause more damage. Most mechanics should be able to do this repair, the kits are not cheap so it is normally not an option to buy a kit to DIY this type of repair.
