I have had a compression test run on my car with a reading of 70 in 1, 110 in 2 and 220 in 3 and 4. I just had a fuel filter replaced and then a coil cover replaced and had oil cleaned out from the throttle body and some in the air box. My mpg is still around 25-27 on a normal tank of gas. But have the rough idle and a clicking noise while idling and sometimes a sound that sounds somewhat like a train chugging, and a sputtering out of the exaust.

It is the z24 so it always had a bit of the sputtering in the exaust but not to this extent and it causes a shaking in the car while idling.

You need an engine overall your compression is way too off from each other. At the most compression differences is 20% between the highest and lowest

Thank you for your response.

Would it be easier to just try to find a new engine like at a junkyard or just have an overhaul done?

And what kinda price range am I looking at for this?

Just find a good used engine in the junkyard-rebuild might as well sell the car and use it for downpayment for a new one

I just started scrapping my 99 cavi. She had 50 psi on #4. Mechanic told me burnt valve. She was not even firing on that cylinder. He said below 70 or so she will not. The old car is not worth putting an engine in or spending $300 or more to get anything done.
