1996 Chevy Cavalier transmission

Ok when I drive and the car gets hot say 195 which is normal my transmission forgets or acts like it dont want to shift un less I bearly give it gas keep in mine only when car is warmed up I think I need a transmission fluid and filter change but I was told it was a 50 50 shot weather it would help or make things work seeing how it has a problem

If you've never done a flush and filter change, I would highly recommend it as you're way past due. It will help some, but the lack of maintenance on the transmission may have caused permanent failure.
