Engine Mechanical problem
1995 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

95 Chevy Cavalier 2.2 liter 4 OHV fi 195,000 kms

About 2 months ago I broke one of the plastic vacuum lines coming from the throttle body vacuum source. I spliced the vacuum line together. Ever since the the check engine light comes on occassionally. It's throws the code 32 inncorrect Sw signaling EGR valve. Had it scanned at a shop.Changed the egr and still the same.I also noticed that the old egr had alot of carbon or something in it when i shook it...Thats weird.

The car has run fine since that. When the car runs hot the check engine light comes on again., I 've cleared the codes several times but it keeps coming back. Do you think the problem could be that spliced ined or something else.

I'd like top do a running vacuum test on it and would like to know where the best place on the engine is to hook up my gauage. I know the intake manifold is supposed to be the best place. How should I do the test to check if the EGR valve is getting the correct vaccum?
