1995 Chevy Cavalier acceleration hesitation

1995 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

When I step on the gas to accelerate, my car acts as if it doesnt want to go; as if my gas paddle is stuck, and if I go over a certain speed, it really acts up.

What could be the problem?

Check your spark plug wires, they could be melted and arcing against the block. But as good measure, you should change plugs and wires. Then we can take it from there, test your mapp sensor too.
