My old car had sitting syndrome when I bought it. I did an oil change and changed the spark plug and wires. It always ran a little rough like it wasn't running on all the cylinders. It cleaned up a little when I did the plugs and wires then it went right back to the heavy vibration and you could smell unburnt fuel. I assume that it is running very rich. One fuel injector has been replaced by the previous owner so I can only assume that changing the rest of them will help smoothe it out a little more. But I guess my question is Can I test the map sensor and do you think that could be the problem?

Welcome to the forum. I'd use a gage and check fuel pressure, you can also see if the system will hold pressure. You can do an injector ohms tests, see how the injectors compare. The pressure regulator might allow gas to leak into the intake.

The map sensor should be a three wire connector, ref voltage--ground--signal, also check vacuum source.
