My battery lite came on, then went out, then the lite started coming on while I was driving, then went out, noticed when I truned on lights, or especialy heater, lights slightly dimmed, if I turned off heater, lights came up again. Car is not running now, and I had a starter installed, battery not checked out, will start if jumped, will not run after jump if you turn car off. Makes clicking noise when turned over.

Its sounds to me like the alternator not charging causing the battery to go dead. I would charge the battery and have it tested. Then see if the alternator is producing voltage. Should be around 13.2 to 14.0 volts. If alternator is not charging it may need to be replaced
