Pass key fault

The appeared 2 xs one my instrument panel once when it appeared that I had a dead battery( when I turn the key everything when dead but after a few try's it started right up) the second time was warmeing the car up and when back to shut it off and as it was running pass key fault appeared. What does this mean?

The pass key system is the theft system that your vehicle uses to prevent someone from stealing the vehicle.

The fact that this is coming on means when you insert the key it is not recognizing the key installed in the ignition.

However, the fact that this happened around a battery issue and has not happened since then I would not worry about it.

More than likely this was just an erroneous issue that did not reoccur.
