I have had a p0420 code coming on for a few weeks now, I had my mechanic look at it and he replaced the cat, all 3 o2 sensors, oem muffler and sealed an exhaust leak before the cat. It was fine for about a week and now the check engine light comes on every couple days and its giving me the same trouble code on my handheld scan tool. Where do I need to go from here so that I can get the car to pass inspection. It runs fine no trouble at all. Just need to pass the obd II part of the inspection. Help please!

I have a 99 v6 camaro and my chek engn light is on too all the time. Most likely ur computer is reading multiple miss fires and sometimes u wont feel those missfire but those cars do it. Those cars r tipical to do multiple missfires, nothing wrong with the car its just the way chevy posisioned the spark plugs that makes these missfires and they always will do m sometimes.U cannot fix that. Just keep up ur ur tune ups and before u get ur car smogged erase the check engine light off with a scanner and get it smogged. Go to autozone and borrow a good scanner they have loaners and read what it tells u. Most likely it will say multiple missfires. Dont worry its ok. Just erase the light and smogg it.
