1988 Chevy Camaro Engine replacement

I have 1988 camaro 2.8 Liter fule injected the motor is shot has bad bottom end knock my question is I have located a 1987 2.8 Liter carborated out of a S10 pick up with 74000 miles on it. Is there any differences besides switching intakes to make it fit have been told by few mechanics saying it wont match up because heads are different to oil pan difference would like some professional advice on this thanks for your site its great help

Hi kevin, well here lies the prob . If your eng is multi port injection the heads on the carb eng don, t have access holes for the injectors. The oil pan has the pick up in the wrong place. So will not clear crossmember. These probs alone are very expensive and complicated. And then you will find none of your accessories are in the right place. Too many probs find yourself a mfi eng or put a small block in it you will be more satisfied and less frustrated good luck billymac
