Engine Performance problem
1987 Chevy Camaro V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic alot miles

ok so I just got this car but the engine only has around 60k miles on it the body however has in the 300k the engine is a 350 with the stock 305lt transmission. The problem is that when I give it full throttle it hessitates to accelerate and then it pulls pretty strong and seems like a very strong engine then once I reach second gear shifting at about 5 the rpms drop to around 2 and then doesnt pull whatsoever. The first gear does pull strong and if im cruising the car just to drive around town the gears seem to shift perfectly and the tranny fluid is in good condition I only seem to find a power loss at full throttle please help me.

It almost sounds as if the car is not going into the next gear, it's going into the gear after. Try shifting the car manually, and see if it's any better. If that trans has a kickdown cable, it could cause a missed shift if its not properly adjusted. Hope we were able to help you out. Mickey-d
