I am having trouble with my battery staying charged I bought a new battery that is testing good so I had the altornator tested it is good but when I drive the car it will die when the battery runs out like the alternator is not working what other things will cause the alternator to not charge the battery while the car is running and with this model should the car stay running if you disconnect the postive battery cable some people say yes and some people say no also when I charge the battery back up when I start the car the voltmeter still reads low

It sounds like your serpentine belt isnt tight. It could be that your serp belt is stretched out or the tensioner isnt providing enough tension. As far as the car running with the battery disconnected, Im not sure. Check and see if you can easily move the tensioner by hand. If you can, Id say thats the problem. Also check to see if the belt is slipping. Good luck. Hope you get your power back. :)

You might also want to check your wires running from the alternator to the starter, they have issues of getting shorts or breaking.
