2001 Chevy Blazer service engine soon light

I just had new brakes installed a couple of days ago and was also told I need lower ball joints and a new idler arm. Could this by why my service engine soon light just came on? Car is running just fine.

You can have the codes retrieved at a local part store for free. Post codes and we can further assist you with the troubleshooting. A worn ball joint and brakes will not cause the engine light to illuminate.
