1997 Chevy Blazer truck will not come out of park

Step on the brake, that will activate the park interlock and allow the shifter to move. If you have done that and it still doesn't work, see if the brake lights are coming on when you step on the brake. If they are not check for a blown fuse. If they are coming on the interlock may have failed. Is this a floor shift or column shift as the way to defeat the interlock varies with application.
