Welcome to the forum. When the problem occurs, I'd check the circuits at the starter relay. Use a testlite. Voltage to load side of relay is hot all the time. Voltage to coil side of relay goes hot with the key in the start position. If that checks out, I pull the starter and have it tested.

Hi, if you can't or won't do any testing, I don't know how to help? There are many online partsbooks, autozone--napa-- rockauto.

All you need is testlite on the relay circuits, not rocket science. I'll help you for free, the shop won't do that. Have a good day.
