I replaced my starter a week ago and it sounds like the gears are slipping again. Does this mean that the flywheel is wore and causing the problem?

Yeah is there any easy way to determine if the flywheel is worn? I used the old starter until it wouldn't start the engine, so just concern about the flywheel.
