My car likes to stall when I go to stop, but not all the time. I don't know what to do. I also would like to know what the thermostat is supposed to read, I've heard it is at the half way mark.

It can run anywhere in the NORMAL range, or a little above 1/4 and a little under 3/4 of the full guage.
Half way mark is idle but it can be higher or lower.

When your vehicle trys to stall when you stop is most likely due to a weak fuel pump, bad fuel pump relay, or a plugged fuel filter.
