2007 Chevy Avalanche gears

I cannot put m car into park the gear just wont shift

Look under the vehicle on the drivers side and see if it is disconnected from the transmission. If it looks ok, have someone shift it from drive to park and see if you can see the cable move back and forth. Let me know what you find out
