2007 Chevy Astro water pump

How do I remove the fan from the water pump on a 1997 chevy astro van. 4.6 liter it seems to screw on have no idea which way to trrun it or what tools to use.

Its normal thread unless its written on fan shroud left hand thread. There is a special tool to remove it. It holds the pulley and turns the nut. If you have access to an air hammer. A light tap on loosen side of big nut usually makes it spin free.
