Engine Mechanical problem
1994 Chevy Astro 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

this started about 2 months ago. The only way that my astro will stay on is if im ALWAYS giving it gas. Ive changed the spark plugs, wires, e.G.R. Valve, and oxygen sensor. WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT! While im driving and want to speed up, it has a delayed reaction and then the engine revs, then speeds up... Very slowly might I add. When im at a stop I have to keep my foot on the gas or else it will die on me and because of that, my brakes get worn out very quickly and my gas milage is horrible. Im thinking it might be the alternator but dont want to spend all that money if thats not whats wrong. The check engine light also turns on and ive noticed that it shuts off when I accelerate quickly. Also it seems to drive a little bit better when the light is off... Not my much though. If anyone could give me some advice or ideas on what the problem could be, I would really appreciate it thanks.

Pull the code/s from the computer and also clean out the idle air control valve, test throttle position and MAP sensors-
