I have no noticeable performance issues. The engine sounds fine runs with same torque and no overheating happening. I go to a mechanic it is eighty bucks for their scans. Do I search the steering column are and find the switch to turn the light off? And what other signs should I pay attention to judge the validity of the light being on?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

The light could be on for many reasons. Most times, when the engine continues to run properly and there are no noticeable changes, it is related to an emissions component.

The only way to know for sure what is the cause is to scan the computer. Since your vehicle is a 1994, that means it is an OBD1 system. You can check that yourself without a scanner. Follow the directions in this link. All you will need is a paper clip. Here is the link. It explains how to do it and provides codes for you to identify what set the light to come on.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
