Shop gave me codes p0440, p0441, p0446, said car needs canister, purge valve and fill cap. Quoted $1,625.00 parts and labor. Is the cost reasonable? Is it worth it to even fix? :-(

Canister purge valves are common to get stuck open and pull a constant vacuum on the tank, thus with a full tank it has the capability of pulling in raw fuel and filling the canister. But most common is when you go to have your vehicle s oil changed and the technician checks your air filter and doesn t re-connect your vacuum lines to your purge valve.

$1,625.00 is way out of the question imo.

Thank you, but he was saying we needed a whole new canister, a new purge valve (isn't that a separate item?), New vent valve and filler cap. I was picturing these were all separate items, no?
