Light comes on after being run at 3000 rpm's for several miles and stays on. Codes indicate miss fire on cylinders five and six. Mechanic has run cleaner through gas several times but light still comes back on after being cleared and runs at 3000 rpm. Have run it two hundred miles since last cleaning.

Good afternoon.

Additives in the fuel have very little or no effect.

How old are the tune up parts?
Did he do a compression test on the two cylinders?

Had a recent tune up. Mechanic has not done a compression test.

Okay, I would have him perform a compression test in those two cylinders to be sure the cylinders can produce power.

It may have low compression from bad valves, could be injectors or could be a leaking intake manifold gasket
