My engine light came on and a test came up with a P2197 code for o2 sensor bank 2 sensor 1 problem. What other things should I look for before replacing the sensor? Also, can you describe the location of this sensor?

Hello,

This Direct Trouble Code (DTC) is set when your Oxygen Sensor (O2) is stuck biased lean. I have included in the diagrams below a factory troubleshooting flowchart to help pinpoint the problem. Your affected O2 sensor is the upstream sensor in the bank two, the one closest to the engine or before the catalytic converter. To go through this flowchart you will need a handheld code reader. Please go through this flowchart and get back to us with what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex
