I just bought this vehicle today. The check engine light is on. The only codes it has is a p0496 and a p0014. I know the p0014 is a VVT solenoid, however how likely is it that it just needs an oil change? My oil pressure stays at 80 psi pretty much the whole time. Should I start with an oil change? Also could that affect my speedometer from working all the time?

Hello,

This sounds like a problem with the exhaust VVT and the evap purge solenoid valve. In the diagrams down below I have included step by step guides from the vehicle manufacturer on how to fix both these issues you are having with your vehicle. Please go through them and let us know what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex
