Check engine code 1698

I am getting an error code 1698. The only thing I see or notice that is wrong with my truck (runs excellent) is my transmission display (PRNDL) and radio display no longer light up. They used to come and go but now they have not lit in some time. Does this error code pertain to this problem? If yes, how do I fix it? If no, what does it pertain to?

Hello, I am Danny.
It is possible that particular code is P1698 " No Message From Transmission Module" Basically that means no information/data is being received from the TCM (Transmission Control Module). I have attached a picture of a how-to testing procedure. Hope this helps and please feel free to ask any further questions if needed. Thanks for using 2CarPros.
