Carburetor rebuild/replacement

Car has Chevrolet 350 in it. When I "suddenly" depress accelerator it will sputter. Gradual acceleration it runs fine. It will do this idle and driving. I was told carburetor needed rebuild. I was thinking of buying a new one. But I'm not sure what I need to fit this motor? I want max hp available. But don't want to break the bank too much. Any suggestions?

Most of the time, the carburetor will arrive jetted perfectly for you. It may only need some minor tweaking using a vacuum gauge or a dwell/ tach meter.

See the 390 4 barrel Holley on my straight 6 258 below. I now get 18 MPG and more power than with the stock Carter BBD carburetor. (I was more after the MPGs than anything). The Holley was about $400 and the 4 barrel intake was about $250 or so.
