This issue late last week. Was driving and was slowing down for a traffic light and all of a sudden once I got to 20 mph it would make a loud noise and stall but all electrical things work. I am able to start the car right up and it works fine. When my husband was driving the check engine light came on so brought it to a local AutoZone to put on the computer and we got a code about a small leak in some fuel part that could be caused my a loose gas cap. But reading everything I am seeing on line I am seeing a lot of similar issues but with different codes and different solutions. I am so confused. I should mention that they check engine light does not come on all the time. No other noises or indications of something else wrong. We did earlier of a problem with traction control coming on. Which is something else that I have read on line about with this model of car. Please help.

When the engine stalled did the car shudder? Like driving a stick shift car and coming to a stop without using the clutch? If so it sounds like the torque converter control solenoid is sticking on not allowing the engine to disengage for the transmission. Here is the location of the solenoid in case you want to change it out.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
