CAR: 1994 ford escort wagon lx. Manual transmission. 1.9 litter 4cyl

My cv axle is about to take a $&@! Any time now and I mean I am seriously running on borrowed time here! My CV Boot has been torn open for at least 2 weeks already so I am surprised it hasn't gone out yet or that I haven't ended up upside down on the freeway! Anyways, I finally got a little bit of extra cash and was lucky enough to find a local salvage yard that so happened to say they had what I was looking for! I had someone who lived 11 minutes away from the salvage place pick it up for me because I live 45 min away from it and wouldn't have made it there before they closed the yard. Anyways, my friend brought I to me and dropped it off and when I looked at the invoice sheet I noticed I said the part was a CV Axle for a 1995 year model. I have a 1994! I know a lot of different things are compatible between different years and even different makes/models but I also know there's things that you absolutely should not try to implement if it's a different year. Do CV Axels fall under the "do not" list or is it ok to put a 1995 cv axle in a 1994.

Its for the passenger side and it was removed from the passenger side, so I am positive it it for the correct side. And if the year difference does not matter, then I'm golden! Thank you!

IF YOU DO HAVE ALL OF THE INFO FOR BOTH VEHICLES

GO TO AN AUTO PARTS STORE ONLINE SUCH AS

advanceautoparts. Com

LOOK UP THE PART FOR EACH VEHICLE (THERE MAY BE SEVERAL BRANDS OFFERED) WRITE DOWN THE PART NUMBERS FOR VEHICLE #1

THEN " CHANGE/ ADD A VEHICLE" AND LOOK UP THE STARTER FOR VEHICLE #2

IF YOU INSERTED THE CORRECT VEHICLE/ YEAR/ ENGINE SIZE

COMPARE THE PART NUMBERS FOR THE PARTS, IF THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME, MOST LIKELY, THE PARTS WILL INTERCHANGE.

THAT'S HOW I USUALLY DO IT!

LET US KNOW HOW IT ALL WORKS OUT

THE MEDIC

PS: I CHECKED BOTH SIDES FOR EACH ESCORT MODEL AT ADVANCE AUTO PARTS ONLINE - THEY ARE THE SAME AXLE SETS FOR BOTH YEARS (DIFFERENT ON DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER SIDE) SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT SIDE FROM THE DONOR ESCORT!

Thank you for the advice! Put the axle on yesterday! Ended up needing a new outter tie rod which I did yesterday as well. Everything seemed to go smoothly! Well, except for 1 thing. Now there is a squeeking when the wheel is in motion. I took off the tire to inspect and cant see anything that stands out as to why its doing this, but when I put the tire back on and started to tighten the lug nuts, the wheel of course moved a little bit and even then it made the squeeking. And its a constant. But I cant figure out what is causing it. Any ideas?

Check for rust in brakes or the brakes may be worn down an dyou are hearing the squealer. Also check for a bad wheel bearing but don't think it is that.

It actually turned out to be the backing plate had been bent a little bit and was what was making the squeezing sound as it and something else back there rubbed together as the tire was in motion. Fixed it tho!
