So I pulled over shut my car off. Turned it back on and just the check engine light was on. Drive about 7 miles home. The next day when I started it there were no lights on. Drove it 30 minutes to the auto parts store and they read the code and told me my camshaft sensor was stuck in advanced. I then drove about one mile and parked but left it idling and it overheated. Can you tell me what is going on because no one seems to be able to help me.

Hi,

Let's start with what the code was in the computer. If the camshaft phaser is stuck in advanced then this will throw off the timing and could cause the overheat. However, I would suspect this would cause it to run poorly and you didn't mention that. Was the vehicle running normally when the light was on and then when it overheated?

Let me know what the code is and we can go from there. Thanks
