Removed ignition switch, tested two wires to theft deterrent system. Both ok. Checked key resistance and verified same at harness connection under steering column. Hooked up obdII code reader and it showed an error 'not comminicating with computer'

They were two white wires in an orange plastic casing that came down the steering column from the key switch. The reading between these two wires was the same as the reading across the resistor in the key.
