This vehicle is out of warranty because of mileage and although every thing else seems to operate well, when you press the heated steering wheel switch, the pilot light does not come on nor does the steering wheel heat. The GM dealer checked the fuse and the relay under the right rear seat and said they were O.K. And that the only recourse was to let their mechanics go at the problem and fix it but they could give me no estimate as to the possible cost. Can you tell me what could be the problem?

Hello and thanks for donating

following the test steps below will pinpoint the culprit of the inoperative heated steering wheel. the most probable cause would be the steering wheel control switch, but it could be the entire heated steering wheel control module that needs replaced. .

Although the answer seems well thought out, I am unable to clearly understand because the print is very small and the letters are so faint that they are hard to read and do not print out legibly. Can you re-send this answer so it is legible and clearly printable? Thanks.

The larger print helped considerably, although due to the fact that the message is still pretty faint, I had to print and then photo-copy very dark at 200 % to be able to clearly read it.I am surprised you dont get more complaints but maybe this is a one-time thing. Any way, your instructions do help me understand what the magnitude of the problem is. Thanks.

It looks fine and very easily readable on my end. May just be your screen's resolution settings. Again I do apologize for that.
