1999 Cadillac Deville Rear shocks extended 6-8 inches hig

The rear of the car is approx. 6-8 inches higher than it should be. Don't know if the leverler is defective or the air pump for the shocks.
I let tlhe air out of the shocks and for a week or so the rear of the car was about where it should be, but now it has raised back up.

You have a bad wire to the pump, on the exhaust side of the pump or a bad pump
