1998 Cadillac Deville vacumn

My engine has began to make a loud wine after it runs for a while. When this happens the engine starts missing. In cold weather it runs good untill it warms up. I took it to be checked and passed all computer functions. I have been told it is a vacumn. Where do I look and how do I find what is making the noise.
