. But the computer is saying there are no codes, still it allowed me to go through the clearing process, but the compressor still would not go on. When I purchased the car, I was advised to add due to leak, aprox every 3 months. But I've never been able to get in. Once when I checked it, the reading on the can was it was almost over filled. I've read that's not good. The unit has run fine, but in the last couple of weeks, I felt it get warm, drove it, turned of off. When back in a few hours and it was fine. Yesterday I drove it, it was running fine and then simpy when hot. I took it to a mechanic that hooked up to the high and low side, that's all, and he concluded the the unit is filled with freon and that I need a new compressor. This may be possible, but I don't believe him. I don't think enough test were run. The dash board is reading "low frigerant/ac compressor off. What do you think.

Rather confusing to read, but my interpretation is that the A/C compressor comes on but the system is not cooling. Is that correct? If you have a compressor that is not pumping, then you would have almost the same pressures from the high and low sides. If you have a low refrigerant message, then you should have a b1147, or 1148 code in the ACM, and the system will default to econ. If someone just simply hooked the system up, they would not be able to tell the system was full.
