1990 Cadillac Deville engine idle

I have a 1990 deville with a 4.5 v8 front wheel drive when you start the car the engine idels high once you put the car into drive the idle comes down but also noticed that it seems to accelarate on its own at times could this be my map sensor? Any sugestions

Maybe a problem with the Idle Speed Controler sticking open. It's on the throttle body couple of witres to it. Remove and clean with carb cleaner. See if that helps.
