I want to take the left side front door panel off the car with the least damage and be able to return it. I would consider purchasing electrical module from the door back to the fuse block. I like the car. It is in great condition, it is not a show dar.

I had a small wiring fire in one circuit from the fuse block under the dash harness and into the left side door panel. Some damaged adjacent circuitry in the harness. I want to take the front left side door panel off the car for examination and repairs. I would conisder buying new electrical modules.

I like the car, it is pretty but not a show car, tho I like it and have kept it in good shape. Financial concerns prevent just giving it to a shop.

Simple diagrams are needed.

Have other car, can travel.

The driver's side panel should be in two pieces, upper and lower. The upper panel comes off first. If you have a pull strap to close the door, the 2 screws holding the pull strap on have to come out. If you have a "pull cup" handle, the cup has to come out exposing 1 or 2 screws. If you also have a lever to open the door there should be a screw in this recess. With all the screws out, the top panel should pull out and up.
The bottom panel should be held on by 2 or 3 screws along the top. Once these are out, with a screwdriver, pry out along the panel bottom to release the plastic clips along the bottom.
Wiring diagrams; If you have access to a fax, give me the # and I'll send you the window, lock and seat diagrams.
