Electrical problem
2003 Cadillac CTS 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 104000 miles

2003 Cadillac CTS, 3.2 v6, 104,000 miles my starter went out and the estimated repair was $443.00
later they called and said my flywheel needed to be replaced.

My question is: can the starter mess up the flywheel. And how can I tell if they are telling the truth.

It is at a Firestone dealer, what should I expect to be charged?

Mitchells labor guide calls for 10.5 hours of labor to replace the flywheel, plus about $100 for the flywheel plus whatever the cost of the starter is.I would go down there and ask to see where the flywheel is messed up, it can happen from a bad starter, but you would have heard grinding noises when starting if it was hurting the flywheel.
