The check engine light has come on in my Regal. I had an auto supply store check the code and it said it the EGR valve was stuck. I have had no other symptoms to make me think there was even something wrong with the car. There is no sputtering, hard start, hesitation that I have noticed as of yet. Since I live in an area that has emission control I need to get this fix (not to mention I don't want to pollute the air any more than I have too). Now for my questions.
1. Is it possible that this engine light is due to a faulty sensor?
2. Is it possible to clean or otherwise repair the EGR valve?
3. How difficult is this repair? Could I, as a reasonably mechanically inclined person, make the repair on my own?
4. Is there any place I can find a repair manual for replacing the EGR valve? I have already looked on www. Eautorepair. Com with little luck.
Any help would be great! Thanks
