What service do I need when the service engine soon light comes on.

When the light comes on, that means the computer has identified a trouble in the system. What you need to do is take it to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer for codes. If the engine is still running correctly, then chances are the code will deal with the EVAP system and they will try to sell you a new gas cap. Ask them what the code is and let me know before you purchase anything.
