1997 Buick Regal tune up

I just wanted to know I have a 1997 buick regal and the engine light or service engine soon light apears as well as low oil when the gas gets to empty it has 89,000 miles and it recently started to shut off but after a few minutes it turns back on, umm it also shakes a bit do you think if I gave it a tune up it will help out mostly or what also I think the muffler is hanging just a bit could that be a problem that results with the others and how much would you say estimated that a tune up would cost a full work up everything and if there is a tune up given will the gas not go so fast and maybe you can give a few tips in how to fix my car to let it save on more gas? Also it says that it only takes premium unleaded gas only it that true with this kind of car?

Hi:
If the check engine light is on, there is a code in the computer. Take it to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer for codes. It will help identify the engine problem and most will do it for free.

If the car has never had a tune up, it wouldn't hurt to do it. Plugs, cap, rotor, wires, fuel filter, air filter if needed should be under 125 dollars. (Doing it yourself)

As far as the exhaust, there are both rubber hangers under the car and steel ones. Check to see if you can find any broken and replace them as needed.
